FFXIV Mac client support? - vlahn - 02-21-2015
I remember reading on a FFXIV forum that a Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV will be released late March or early April.
If this proves true, is there any possibility that minion code will be ported across to Mac as well, or will it be a Windows only affair?

Ahh, nothing like a refreshing cup of disdain to wake me up in the evening :)
I actually agree with you - partway. I use a hackintosh for gaming rather than a Mac. GTX970 makes up for a lot of OSX's failings in the gaming department.
Ahh well, guess I WILL have to install Windows after all on my new computer. :(

we won't support any other OS than windows for the foreseeable future. Not because we don't like MacOs or Linux, but because you and 2 others would be the only ones using it on MacOs.

I appreciate the response Hans. I understand development is a game of numbers - I just wasn't sure what codebase you'd built Minion on, and whether it was easily cross-platformable.
Now I know. :)
