Useful to keep an eye on things while doing other tasks if you run minimized, but still keep rendering on. Just stumbled over it.
Keeps the Windows 7 Aero Preview window open at all times and more(when you highlight over an open app in the taskbar) also allows you to reposition and do quiet a bit else. Kind of like a picture in picture. I believe you can also get a similar effect if you force the application to be "always on top" and just resize it small. This just gives you extended functionality.
