There are other benefits to using the token other than security. IP Geo location is a good example. Before I had a token, I could not logon to the game from Italy, and I assumed it was because my account is NA. I used a VPN to get an NA ip address and then I was able to logon, although VPN caused a bit of lag. I switched to using token and now I can logon from any location.
But regardless of any of that, I would still use the token solely for the security. Advising people against such an easy layer of protection is bad.
