I wonder how bot protection works on FFXIV, I was botting with another bot which made it obvious I was gather botting but I never once got a ban.
Now I'm just using bot assist because I have a feeling they're using pattern based detection (run the same path multiple times and you get flagged) and reports.
Until bans have been analyzed more and we can figure out exactly how they're doing so, then I'll give the bot more responsibility, for example Fate Grinding or Gathering. Right now I believe their isn't enough evidence to say which method is safe and which isn't.
