I had a similar issue where the bot would stop gathering after a few times when the marker distance was greater than 75.
I never even thought about it being my mount until I read this thread. Sure enough, I have my chocobo in the stable and "Use Mount" enabled in the bot.
Unchecking "Use Mount" solved that problem.
