FFXIV shuts down - bradleyk77 - 08-19-2014
As the title states the game shuts down 100% of the time when I click "attach". It happens as quickly with the beta as with the updated version of live (I waited until status said the bot had been updated with the patch). I tried a clean install on a different drive of both versions as well. There doesn't seem to be any logging or error messages, just an instant shut down of FFXIV.

so you manually launch the game client log the character fully in to the game. then you launch gui_launcher as admin then attach the bot to the game client?

The issue appears to have been a corrupted file in Microsoft visual Studio Service pack 1. A dele/reinstall of that Windows Update fixed everything.
