Let's not get deeper into a buddy vs minion pissing contest. Honorbuddy is a great bot; there are some ways in which the minion framework is very, very different than the buddy framework and will always be so, and there are other areas (such as ease of use, range of functionality, community size/enthusiasm, dungeon botting, etc) in which buddy obviously still sets the 'industry standard' and we hope to continue to improve. Direct comparisons with other bots are generally frowned upon as it walks a fine line before dropping into the 'advertising' category, and generally we discourage that sort of thing in our forums. The point has been made so let's not let it devolve any further - in the future please try to separate your criticisms from direct comparisons to competitors as it tends to spark up controversy that distracts from the discussion.

I love the framework and the API is quite good, which allows somebody like me to easily extend it to do what I want to so I don't have to bother you guys about every little thing. Things I really would like:
I think these couple of things would make the combat effectiveness of minion much smarter in certain situations. Thanks guys.

My two ... cents ...
1) MOB Attack/AoE avoidance 2) More fine grained control of grinding and grinding paths

Ever tried the bots for games that aint 10 years old? And I guess we simply have a different opinion about a good UI... To be fair, I haven't checked the mod section yet, I was referring to innate bot capability. However I fully intend(ed) to once I got my bearings with the bot itself (which is ironically what I am doing here on the forums just now) So thank you for confirming the above, will make the bot that much more useful for me! I didn't intend to create any drama, obviously some have very passionate feelings one way or the other, I was simply making comparisons/suggestions. For FFXIV, I have no doubt that this is the best available bot and will continue to be. For me however, it seems the one area in which it is most important for me, it is lacking :( (leveling) This is why I made posts inquiring about tactics and if I was missing something persay. I tried to keep up w/ RL buddies whom aren't working currently and it was for naught. Once your past your teens I might manage a half a level at best in an 8 hour stretch of nonstop grinding/fate'ing. Im no fool, I realize much of this is due to the population having thinned relative to area and fates aren't constantly done and finished like they used to be, however I am in full belief the bot can be improved to incorporate some of the more efficient means of leveling as well :) Like most, im looking forward to the future! Oh! I do have a suggestion (assuming this isn't already there and avoiding my detection as well! The GUILauncher (preffxiv intitialization) seems to be unable to do its job if you have a one time password setup? Is this the case? Is this something that can be fixed in the future? I cant imagine how but im no programmer :P

Any way that the speed hack From MovementInfo can include a speed hack for when Your weapon is Drawn...... As it is right now you can set every other speed you need, but as soon as you take out your weapon, BAM Slow as a turtle again. Permasprint Kinda helps with this, but is still slow with weapon drawn compared to say speed 8 or 9.
Thanks for job well done so far!

I cant imagine how but im no programmer :Pif i were assigned to this, i'd say it's impossible. There is no point in doing the job as the one-timed password is uniquely generated. you don't have the same code as other people and its changes every now and then. it would probably take months to reverse engineer, thus 'it's impossible'. |
