In the Beta bot is there a way to set an evac point? My bot keeps running to a high level area to rest after Fates even though there is no marker there.

there is no more beta bot. beta went live you should be using live. and to set evac point you just go to where you want to be yoru evac point. open mesh amanger and click evac point. You should read the tutorial on meshmanager.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up i must have missed that announcement.

So am I able to continue using the Beta client that I dl'd or should i redownload the live version?

you need to do a fresh install of the live bot. The beta bot wont be updated now. Only bug fixes on live, no bug fixes will be applied to beta.
