I realize the thread is pretty much asking for how many people would like this for it to be beneficial to be added. Since the con reasons for not wanting a Trial / Demo modes is not that much argumentative.
For consumers, it gives benefit of negating a bad buy. For developers, it gives them a higher % of actual completed purchases and overall higher sales % if their add-on works like how it's supposed to.
It's definitely difficult to gauge a store add-on without trying it, although there is a good amount of information on how you'd be disappointed if you were to head to the forum page for the add-on you're curious in.
Informative consumers, shop with confident. Ask question if needed, etc etc.
This isn't to disagree with the idea of demo mode, or to , but rather to suggest viewing feedbacks on forum for those add-ons as one more piece of information to consider before buying an add-on if a trial mode isn't implemented. In the very least, you should read the summary of each add-on, not just the title of what it does.
